ABOUT SoCo99

June 12th and June 13th, 2010
at the Darlington School in Rome, GA

The camp will include the top players in the Southern and Western states. If you have a desire to play college lacrosse in the future, then this is the event for you!

The explosion of varsity lacrosse in the last 5 years has resulted in the development of highly skilled players who have yet to be seen by the coaches of Top DI, DII or DIII NCAA programs. The availability of recruiting camps in the Northeast has been closed to all but a handful of players from the South and Midwest, leaving 100+ plus college capable players from being exposed to programs across the land. The shrinking budgets and staffs at the NCAA levels make it difficult for coaches to make recruiting trips South of Maryland or West of Ohio, combined with the perception that whereas there are tremendous athletes in South and Midwest, the level of lacrosse remains a mystery. That’s where the SOCO99 comes in….

•    The Southern Combat 99 unites aggressive/interested college coaches from across the country with players from across the state that aspire to compete for an NCAA Varsity Program of college club

•    Invite handpicked coaches at geographically appropriate, athletically achievable and academically diverse programs who recognize the athleticism, passion and steep learning curve that the non-Hotbed player can bring to their program

•    SOCO99 has one of the highest ratios of coaches to players of any recruiting event in the country, almost 1 recruiting coach for every 5 players-this is more than Champ Camp, Hotbeds, Top 205

•    Establish the South and Midwest as the new "hotbed" for Top NCAA Talent.

The college coaches understand that this event is run with the players and parents in mind by guaranteeing the best players in the Southern/Midwestern states being viewed by coaches who have flown half way across the country to see not only the All State players and Travel Team All Stars but also the “hidden gems” that can be often overlooked due to an inability to get back east for camps or afford a local travel team. This approach allows players from across divisions and districts to compete against each other in a format that for the college allows the best in the state to play against the best in the state. The college coach does not know or care about what HS a player is from, he comes with no subjectivity or predisposition to a HS or HS coach.  All they know is talent.

Recruiting Exposure through Showcase of Games:

Each player will play 4 games per day for a total of 8 games in front of college coaches.  An All-Star team of 40 players will be selected, and this game will be coached by NCAA coaches.

Skill Sessions and Recruiting Presentation:

Players will receive complementary skill instruction from several NCAA coaches prior to their morning and afternoon games each of the two days, totaling 4 skill sessions with college coaches.  Parents and families of attending players are welcome to sit in on our presentation from NCAA coaches about the college recruiting process.
